From my childhood I recall the psychedelic as being swirly lines, spirals, fade outs, smoke and mirrors. I don't quite recall at what point that television proscribed fantasy became a realization that the world around me was all my brain's interpretation of what was really there, and that I could manipulate it by artificial means; but that was around the time I started experimenting with drugs. The fact that my eyes and ears only allowed me a peek at the full spectrum of what was going in the world around me.
